What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." It's a format for distributing and gathering content from sources across the Web, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs. Web publishers use RSS to easily create and distribute news feeds that include links, headlines, and summaries.
What kind of content does the Seferm Post syndicate via RSS? The Seferm Post is offering many feeds in the RSS format. The feeds are free of charge to use for individuals and non-profit organizations for non-commercial use.
*Attribution (included in each feed) is required. The following are methods you can receive latest news from the Seferm Post:
The Seferm Post news feeds allow you to get instant new content. Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want it to receive. For instance, if you would like the latest U.S. News, simply select the orange button on the left or text by the right of the orange button. You can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the orange button on the left or clicking the URL of the feed text into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
Typical applications for consuming or using RSS include:
- Using a program known as a News Aggregator to receive, update and display latest RSS feeds
- Incorporating RSS feeds into websites or blogs
News Aggregators will download and display RSS feeds. Some free and commercial Aggregators are available for download. Popular news readers include AmphetaDesk, NetNewsWire, and Radio Userland.
Some aggregators are separate, "stand-alone" programs such as those above; other services will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page.
Other ways people use RSS feeds is by adding content into websites, or blogs.
The feeds are free of charge. We ask that you provide attribution to The Seferm Post in connection with your use of the feeds on your blogs or websites.
